Showalter's Big Boot Helps Bulldogs Blank Eagles, Earns MACCC Weekly Honors

Women's Soccer - Goalkeeper
Anna Kathryn Harrell, Northwest Mississippi Community College
(Fr, GK - Tupelo, Miss., 1)
Northwest freshman goalkeeper Anna Kathryn Harrell posted a clean sheet this week in a pair of crucial matches. The Tupelo native was battle-tested, but preserved the 1-0 shutout against #13 Pearl River, collecting four saves. In the Lady Rangers' 7-0 shutout of Copiah-Lincoln in the Region 23 Quarterfinals, Harrell played 74 minutes and collected four additional saves, bringing her total save count to 55 on the season.
Women's Soccer - Offense
Kristen Phillips, Holmes Community College
(Freshman, F - Collinsville, 8)
Phillips had five shots and five shots on goal with four goals in Holmes' two wins this week over No. 1 Jones and No. 17 Itawamba.
Men's Soccer - Offense
Broc Bookout, Jones College
(Fr, F - Hattiesburg, Miss., 37)
Broc Bookout, a freshman forward from Oak Grove, had a goal and two assists in a 5-1 win over Holmes. He then scored the first goal in No. 7 Jones' 4-1 win over Co-Lin in the Gulf District Region 23 Tournament opener.

Sirr Trotter, Mississippi Delta Community College
(Sophomore, Wide Receiver - Cleveland, MS, 1)
In the upset win at Jones, Trojan sophomore Wide Receiver Sirr Trotter had 5 catches for 177 yards and scoring 2 Touchdowns for the Visiting Trojans, helping them secure the upset victory.
Football Defensive Player
Billy Pullen, Copiah-Lincoln Community College
(So., DL - Kaufman, Texas, 5)
Billy Pullen was a dominant defensive force for the Wolves in their win over East Central. The sophomore defensive lineman from Kaufman, Texas finished the game with six total tackles with 4.5 tackles for loss for 25 yards including a career high three sacks. Pullen also had a forced fumble and a pass breakup during the game. Pullen is now second in the NJCAA and leading the MACCC with 10.5 sacks on the season while leading the NJCAA and MACCC in forced fumbles with four.
Football Special Teams Player
Gabriel Showalter, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College
(So, K - St. Martin, 38)
Gabriel Showalter, a sophomore from St. Martin, made all seven placement attempts and continued his strong kickoff performance in No. 6 Gulf Coast's 41-0 win over Hinds. He made both field goals and five extra points. Showalter has made all 43 extra points this year and leads the NJCAA in that category and kicking points. He averaged 63.8 yards on kickoffs with one touchback and had 3-of-5 punts land inside the 20.
