Women's Basketball
Terica Smith, Meridian Community College
(SO, F - West Point, MS, 32)
Sophomore Terica Smith was dominant in the paint for the Lady Eagles last week. The West Point native finished the week with 49 points, averaging 16.3 ppg, 17 rebounds and 2 steals. Smith led the Lady Eagles to a perfect 3-0 week with the first game coming against a ranked opponent.
Men's Basketball
Bob Dickson, Jones College
(Fr, F - Memphis, Tenn., 20)
Bob Dickson, a 6-foot-7 freshman forward/center from Memphis, Tenn., had a phenomenal home debut for No. 6 Jones College. Dickson had a 'triple double' with 16 points, 27 rebounds and 10 assists as the Bobcats defeated South Arkansas, 112-86. He also had four steals and four blocked shots. He had 13 offensive rebounds and 14 defensive rebounds.
Football - Offense
Julius Pope, Northwest Mississippi Community College
(Fr, RB - Pope, MS, 4)
Pope truly did it all for Northwest on Saturday afternoon. The freshman had 121 yards receiving and a 35 yard reception for a touchdown while also rushing for 65 yards to lead the team with 5.4 yards per carry against a stingy defense. He added 84 more yards on a half-back pass to M.J. Johnson in the second quarter to give the Rangers an 14-7 lead at the time. In total, he had 270 yards of total offense for Northwest in a game they needed every bit.
Football - Defense
Kaleb Arterberry, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College
(Fr, LB - Pearl, 12)
Kaleb Arterberry, a freshman linebacker from Pearl, was all over the field for No. 7 Gulf Coast in a 45-24 win at No. 9 East Mississippi. He had 12 tackles, including a sack. He also broke up a pass.
Football - Special Teams
La'Zeric Johnson, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College
(Fr, DB - Eight Mile, Ala., 9D)
La'Zeric Johnson, a freshman defensive back from Eight Mile, Ala., had a momentum-swinging play for No. 7 Gulf Coast in its 45-24 win at No. 9 East Mississippi. He blocked a field goal that would have cut the Bulldogs' lead to one point which was returned to the EMCC 1. One play later, it was an 11-point lead. Johnson also had five tackles and a key fumble recovery, along with two pass breakups.

The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) is one of the premier community college conferences in the country and ranks among the elite in the nation in terms of alumni on professional sports teams.
Current championship competition offered by the league includes competition for men in baseball, basketball, football, golf, soccer and tennis.
Women's competition is offered in the sports of basketball, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball.
