ELLISVILLE (JCBobcats.com) – In Jones' second season of volleyball, they have captured a second NJCAA Region 23 Championship.
The Bobcats, 30-4, also won the MACCC for the first time a week ago, going 15-1 in league play.
In three matches at A.B. Howard this week, Jones did not drop a set to Southwest, East Central or Pearl River in Sunday's championship.
"I just want to thank all the fans and players of other teams who came out," second-year head coach John Dussouy said. "It really meant a lot to our team to get that support and carried us to this championship."
Next up is a meeting with Alabama Community College Conference Champion, Calhoun, on Saturday, Nov. 8 in Decatur, Ala. The winner gets the automatic bid to the NJCAA Tournament.
Calhoun is 30-3 on the season and has won 14 straight matches.
